This morning we actually slept in, 7:00am! I think we are getting the hang of this China time.
Packed up and out of the hotel by 10:30, lunch at the airport - too much food and warm beer, again.
What is it with airline check in agents? They type, and type, and type, all the while looking intently at thier computer screen (that you can't see). The entire time you are thinking, okay, I bought my ticket, I have a confirmation number, and an assigned seat, what is left? But they continue to type away... I used to think it was an American joke, but they do the same thing here too, mystery still not solved...
A quick one hour flight and we landed in Chongqing. It is hilly and green, quite a contrast from Beijing and XiAn. The city is at the connections of two major rivers, the Yangtze and another one, and reminds me of San Fransisco... On steriods!! There are a bazillion skyscrapers crammed together on steep narrow streets, right on the water (river). Huge suspension bridges connect the different sides of the river. This city is huge! (it is the 4th largest in China). I'm looking forward to spending the week here, I think we will get to explore a bit. Our hotel is the nicest yet, we have a suite (for us and the baby) with a room across the hall for the kids. Stacey squeeled with delight when she saw the crib in our bedroom! She was really in her element as she unpacked Estee's suitcase and set everything up to be ready for the big day.
We got to meet most of the others in our adoption group, nice people. It is always interesting to match email identities to faces! Everyone is exited for tomorrow! We all ate dinner in the "food court" at the shopping mall that the hotel connects to. Had some REALLY spicy food, and to think we ordered MILD!
We were told that some of the babies are sick, but nothing serious, just warning us...
Until now this has just seemed like a vacation, which I guess it was, but this is really sinking in, tomorrow at 1:00pm we get her, after all the waiting, and waiting, its here! Wow, I hope Stacey can sleep tonight!
Emily just came into the room dancing around, singing "tomorrow the 5 Musgroves become the 6 Musgroves!" I think all the kids are feeling the anticipation. And really, except for having to share a small room and decide who sleeps on the roll-away bed, they are getting along amazinly well, we are proud of them.
Last night Stacey dreamed that we were in a line of hundreds of people all waiting for our babies, then they gave us our girl and she was like 5 years old! She was freaked out by this, but seems pretty calm right now.
Sweet dreams!
Brett

Stacy: OMGosh. For some reason, this post made me cry. The excitment and anticipation!!! For some reason, I guess its a mom thing. Okay, right now it is 11:15 Sunday, so in a few hours you are gonna wake up then go get a daughter. CCOOOOOOOl! I can't wait for the post after that. James is nagging me because I got to read the posts first and he wants to check Taylor's blog again so I gotta go. Thank you Brett for being so thorough, this is truly a gift for all of us. Love the stories about the kids, Hugs and Kisses, Barbara
Hi guys,
It sounds like you are having a great time. I can't wait to see Estee. I don't see pictures though. Am I doing something wrong? Kiss Estee for us.
Love, Mom
Oh......my........gosh! It is 6:29pm on Sunday, Feb 25 here in Fallbrook. Which means (I think?) that it is 10:00 am on Monday for you! 3 more hours!!!!!!!! Stacey, I have a really nervous stomach right now so I can't even begin to imagine what you are feeling, but I am soooo excited to talk to you! We really miss you all and are praying for you as I write this. How cool to think God had this day planned for Estee just the way He planned for all of our children to be born into our lives??? All our love, the Barricks
